Blockbuster Radio Sponsorship

This is an integrated radio sponsorship of Australia’s number one radio show. Working with Blockbuster’s new tagline “Entertaining’s better at Blockbuster” to create a campaign that invigorated our longstanding drive time radio strategy, breaking out of the 30” spot and “thanks to” credit mould to create a new level of integration within Australia’s most popular drive time show on radio Hamish & Andy.

The home entertainment category is highly competitive in Australia, and DVD rentals old fashioned. Blockbuster wanted to reinvigorate themselves as fun, exciting, entertaining and different.

 We worked with Blockbuster's new tagline "Entertaining's better at Blockbuster" to create a campaign that invigorated our longstanding drive time radio strategy, breaking out of the 30" spot and "thanks to" credit mould to create a new level of integration within Australia's most popular drive time show on radio Hamish & Andy. Two incredibly popular radio/TV personalities, known for their sense of fun and irreverence broadcast nationally on the Austereo network.Blue and yellow Blockbuster logo.

Working with Hamish & Andy and the programming director we developed a variety of creative executions written in their vernacular. In addition to extended credits, intros and outs we created a 2for1 offer for Hamish & Andy to generously give their listeners on a Thursday afternoon when business is usually slow. Hamish & Andy were given a selection of DVDs to review on Fridays, 6pm (peak rental time), titles where then featured weekly in the DVD bay in store.
